Originally constructed in 1964 as the Stadthalle Bremen, the ÖVB-Arena underwent a significant modernization between 2004 and 2005, transforming it into the contemporary multi-purpose venue it is today. The nearest mainline station is Bremen Hauptbahnhof (Bremen Hbf), a major regional hub. From Bremen Hbf, the arena is approximately a 15-minute walk north-east along Bürgerweide. Alternatively, tram lines 6 (direction Universität) or 8 (direction Kulenkampffallee) depart directly from Bremen Hbf, stopping at 'Blumenthalstraße' or 'Messe Centrum'. The journey takes approximately 3-5 minutes, with the 'Blumenthalstraße' stop being the closest to the venue entrance.
Bus & Local Transit
While several local bus routes serve the broader Bürgerweide area, connecting through Bremen Hbf, the tram network is the most direct public transport option to the ÖVB-Arena. Trams 6 and 8 offer consistent service from the city centre and surrounding districts.
