About Sala Jerusalem: Layout, History & Architecture
Sala Jerusalem, originally opening its doors in 1960 as Cines Jerusalem, stands as a converted mid-century functionalist cinema. The architectural conversion has adapted the space for live music, retaining a layout typical of its cinematic origins. The auditorium features a primary flat standing floor, which can accommodate an approximate capacity of 700-800 patrons for most concert configurations. Above this, an elevated balcony offers additional standing room or, for specific events, limited seating, providing an alternative vantage point. The stage occupies the area formerly housing the cinema screen. Sightlines from the balcony are generally clear, though views from the main floor, particularly from mid-rear positions, can be obstructed by crowd density.
As a structure not originally designed for amplified music, the hall possesses a naturally resonant, somewhat reflective acoustic profile, common in its concrete construction. While the natural reverberation contributes a certain character, the venue's sonic delivery for contemporary live performances is heavily dependent on the quality and calibration of the installed sound reinforcement system. The space does not inherently boast an acoustically dry or "perfect" sound; rather, its sonic environment is shaped by careful engineering and tuning of the PA system to mitigate reflections and ensure clarity across the venue's rectangular dimensions.
The Live Experience & Current Schedule
Entry to the venue is managed from its Calle Sueca frontage, leading into a compact foyer area equipped with bar facilities. The live experience on the main floor can be notably energetic, with crowd density varying significantly depending on the event and attendance. The standing pit directly in front of the stage offers the most immediate proximity to performers, while the elevated balcony provides a slightly more removed perspective. The atmosphere is generally lively and engaged, reflective of the specific musical genre on any given night. With 11 live performances scheduled, upcoming entry prices start from €105.55. The next confirmed event on the calendar is Kitty Daisy and Lewis on 17th September 2026.
Travel & Arrival Logistics
Rail & Mainline Connections
València Nord (commuter and regional lines, with Metro lines 3, 5, 9 accessible at Xàtiva station) is an 8-minute walk north-west via Carrer de Sueca and Carrer de Bailén. The nearest Metro stop is Bailén (Line 5), located a 4-minute walk north-west from the venue.
Bus & Local Transit
Key bus routes serving the Ruzafa district, including lines 7, 18, 19, 27, 35, 92, and 93, have multiple stops along Gran Via de les Germanies and Carrer de Sueca. These transit points are situated within a 2 to 5-minute walk of the venue's entrance.
Parking & Vehicle Access
The residential Ruzafa neighborhood offers several underground parking options. Parking Ruzafa on Carrer del Pintor Salvador Abril is a 5-minute walk north, and Parking Mercat de Russafa on Plaça del Dr. Landete is a 7-minute walk south-east. Expect standard hourly fees; during peak event times, congestion can be significant, and advance booking of a space is highly advisable.
Entry, Queues & Security
The main entrance is directly on Calle Sueca. Queue arrangements typically form along the pavement outside the venue. Patrons should anticipate standard security protocols, including bag searches, upon entry. To facilitate swift access and avoid missing early performances, arriving 30-45 minutes before the advertised door time is recommended.
