About Sala Moon: Layout, History & Architecture

Sala Moon, located in the heart of València, occupies a large, repurposed cinema building that was extensively redeveloped and opened as a live music venue in the early 2000s. While retaining some of the structural integrity of its original purpose, the interior has been completely refitted to accommodate amplified performances. The architectural profile is essentially that of a large urban club, with a contemporary dark aesthetic. The capacity for standing-room concerts is approximately 800-900 patrons.

The hall features a prominent elevated stage designed for clear visibility. The main floor is a flat standing area, which allows for dynamic crowd engagement. Above this, a substantial mezzanine or balcony level wraps around the main performance space, offering an elevated perspective of the stage. Sightlines from the main floor are generally unobstructed, while the tiered design of the mezzanine provides good views from most positions, though extreme sides may encounter some minor architectural impediments. Acoustically, as a converted cinema, the space relies heavily on a robust, modern PA system to deliver clear and impactful sound. While engineered for live music, the inherent hard surfaces common to such conversions mean the audio quality is consistently solid and well-defined, rather than having the soft, absorbent characteristics of purpose-built acoustic halls.

The Live Experience & Current Schedule

Entering Sala Moon typically involves a structured queue line outside the venue, leading to a direct entry point where security performs routine bag checks. Inside, the main foyer area provides access to multiple bars, catering to the flow of patrons before and during performances. Once past the foyer, attendees can move directly into the main standing pit, which can become quite dense during popular shows, fostering an energetic atmosphere close to the stage. Those preferring a less intense experience or a different vantage point can utilize the staircase access to the mezzanine level, where bars are also available, offering a broad, elevated view of the performance.

With 10 live performances scheduled, upcoming entry prices start from €76. The next confirmed event on the calendar is Nebulossa on 24th September 2026.
