The Maverik Center, constructed in 1997, embodies a late-20th-century utilitarian arena design, primarily featuring a steel frame structure with precast concrete and metal panel finishes. This multi-purpose indoor facility, originally known as the E Center, was built to host the ice hockey events of the 2002 Winter Olympics. It accommodates audiences of up to 12,000 for concerts and 10,100 for its primary tenant, the Utah Grizzlies hockey team.

The interior layout features a large, adaptable floor space suitable for end-stage or center-stage concert configurations, surrounded by fixed, steeply raked tiered seating. Upper-tier sightlines generally offer unobstructed views of the stage or playing surface, though distance from the action can be a factor in the higher reaches. Due to its expansive, hard-surfaced construction, the hall's acoustics are typical of large arenas, heavily relying on sophisticated sound reinforcement systems to manage reflections and achieve clarity for live performances.
