Área 12 operates as a large-scale, open-air event space situated within the expansive grounds of the Institución Ferial Alicantina (IFA), southwest of Alacant city centre. Established as a designated outdoor concert zone within the IFA complex, its primary configuration consists of a vast, flat standing area capable of accommodating up to 30,000 patrons for major events. The architectural character is functional rather than ornate, relying on robust, temporary stage constructions, modular audience barriers, and distributed sound and screen towers to facilitate large-scale gatherings.
The primary setup involves a main stage facing a wide, open field, with production tents and VIP platforms occasionally integrated into the perimeter. Sightlines across the flat terrain are generally unobstructed from the mid-field, though proximity to the stage dictates clarity. Acoustically, the hall relies entirely on professionally engineered distributed PA systems to project sound evenly across the substantial audience area. As an open-air venue, it is inherently subject to environmental factors such as wind dispersion and ambient noise, which can influence sound clarity and consistency at greater distances from the stage.

Alacant Terminal, the primary mainline station, is significantly further and requires a bus or taxi connection.
