Komedia Bath occupies a significant building on Westgate Street, originally opening as the Beau Nash Picture House in 1935. Designed by Sir Arthur Blomfield, the building showcases Art Deco influences, a common architectural choice for cinemas of that era. Its subsequent incarnations included the Central Cinema and the Regal, before reopening as Komedia in 2008. The main auditorium, repurposed from the original cinema screen and seating area, retains a sense of its past grandeur with high ceilings and a prominent stage.

The venue is largely bifurcated into two primary performance spaces. The Main Auditorium is a substantial area with a capacity of approximately 700 standing or 400 seated, depending on the event configuration. It features a large flat standing floor directly in front of the stage, complemented by a raked balcony above, offering clearer sightlines for seated patrons. The smaller, more intimate Studio space, located separately, provides a capacity for around 100 individuals, typically utilized for comedy, smaller musical acts, or spoken word performances. Acoustically, the main hall, owing to its cinematic origins, relies heavily on modern PA systems for live music amplification. The spacious volume can introduce some natural reverberation, requiring skilled sound engineering to achieve optimal clarity, particularly on the busy standing floor. The balcony often benefits from a more balanced mix, distanced from the immediate stage energy. The Studio, by contrast, with its lower ceiling and tighter dimensions, offers a more direct and unvarnished sonic profile.
