While the original structure likely dates to the late 19th century as a coaching inn, its current configuration as a multi-room club and live music venue is the result of extensive modern renovation and adaptation, commencing its life as 'The Fridge Bar' before becoming 'Jamm' and then 'Brixton Jamm'. The main performance space, often referred to as the 'Main Room', is characterized by a flat, standing-only floor with a raised stage or DJ booth, accommodating approximately 600-700 patrons for club nights and slightly fewer for live performances to allow comfortable movement.
The architecture reflects its converted nature, blending remnants of brickwork with industrial-grade soundproofing and contemporary fit-outs.
