Buffalo Riverworks occupies a substantial 1960s industrial warehouse, thoughtfully redeveloped in 2018 into a prominent live event space. The architecture is a study in post-industrial brutalism, featuring vast concrete expanses, exposed steel girders, and large utilitarian windows that hint at its original purpose. The main hall boasts a cavernous 2,500-capacity flat standing floor, offering expansive sightlines toward a wide proscenium stage. A single, shallow mezzanine balcony runs along the northern side of the hall, providing an elevated vantage point for a limited number of attendees, though primary seating is minimal and often reserved.

The acoustic profile of the hall is characteristic of its industrial shell; the hard, reflective surfaces of concrete and glass create inherent challenges for natural sound dispersion. While a powerful, comprehensive sound reinforcement system is installed, the venue's voluminous and geometrically straightforward design means sound engineers work diligently to mitigate significant reverb and prevent bass frequencies from congregating, particularly at the rear of the main floor and beneath the mezzanine. Despite these architectural realities, the system is generally well-calibrated, ensuring clarity and impact, albeit with a reliance on direct PA output rather than any subtle acoustic shaping inherent to the structure itself.

Here, several well-staffed bar areas are strategically positioned to handle pre-show and interval crowds, though peak times can still lead to short queues. Once inside, the main standing pit is designed to accommodate a high density of patrons, with the expansive floor allowing for considerable movement, especially further from the stage.
