Originally established in 1892, Celtic Park has undergone several significant redevelopments, most notably a comprehensive reconstruction in the 1990s, resulting in its current form. The architectural style is characteristic of modern football stadia: a functionalist design dominated by concrete and steel, forming a vast, open-air bowl. With a seating capacity of 60,411, the venue features four distinct, fully-tiered stands – the North Stand, Jock Stein Stand, Lisbon Lions Stand, and the Main Stand. For live music and large-scale performances, the pitch area typically converts into a standing floor, complemented by the seated tiers of the surrounding stands.

Sightlines throughout the auditorium are excellent from all seated sections, with no structural obstructions inherent to its modern design. Views from the standing pitch, when in use, are open and direct to the stage. Acoustically, as a colossal, open-air structure of concrete and steel, the hall is entirely dependent on sophisticated, powerful PA systems for sound reinforcement. The immense volume of the space means natural acoustic properties are minimal; sound tends to dissipate rapidly, often leading to a broad, reverberant sound profile rather than an intimate or crisply defined sonic experience.

Ingress to the stadium is managed efficiently via numerous turnstile gates strategically positioned around the perimeter, corresponding to specific stands and ticket allocations. Once inside, broad concourse areas within each stand provide multiple points for refreshments and amenities. For concerts, the pitch level can become quite densely packed, offering direct proximity to the stage, while the tiered stands provide elevated, clear sightlines across the entire performance area.
