Constructed in 2003, El Nido de los Águilas stands as a prime example of late-20th-century modernist architecture adapted for desert climates, characterized by its robust, angular concrete and steel framework. Designed primarily as a multi-purpose indoor arena, the structure prioritizes durability and large-scale capacity over ornate detailing. The auditorium features a configurable main floor, which can accommodate approximately 3,000 standing patrons for general admission events or be fully seated for up to 2,500. Surrounding this central area are two tiers of fixed seating, providing an additional 4,500 seats, bringing the total capacity to around 7,000 for major concerts and sporting events.

Sightlines from the tiered seating sections are generally unobstructed, though patrons in the furthest reaches of the upper tier will experience considerable distance from the stage. The flat main floor offers direct proximity to performers but can become densely packed, affecting visibility for those not at the front. Acoustically, the hall presents the typical challenges of large, unadorned concrete spaces; sound reflections are considerable, making the venue highly dependent on sophisticated and well-calibrated professional audio (PA) systems for clarity and impact. Without robust reinforcement, the space can sound cavernous, particularly for dialogue or nuanced musical performances.
