Completed in 2003 as a key component of the Sant Feliu Port regeneration initiative, Espai Port Marítim is a purpose-built multi-use events hall reflecting a robust, utilitarian modernism. Its architectural profile, characterised by vast expanses of reinforced concrete, industrial-grade steelwork, and strategically placed glazing, aligns with a functional maritime aesthetic rather than decorative flourish. The main auditorium is a large, rectangular chamber designed primarily for standing events, accommodating up to 1,800 patrons. For seated configurations, the capacity adjusts to approximately 800, utilising temporary raked seating installations.

A single, shallow mezzanine balcony runs along the north and south sides of the hall, offering an elevated perspective. However, its modest rake means sightlines for seated patrons here can be compromised when the main floor is heavily populated. On the main level, views of the fixed stage are generally clear from the front, though the considerable depth of the room can render the rear sections visually distant. Acoustic properties within the space are typical of large, hard-surfaced constructions; reverberation is significant, necessitating a meticulously engineered and powerful PA system for any musical performance to achieve clarity and definition. The natural acoustic environment itself is notably resonant, relying heavily on sound reinforcement rather than intrinsic design for robust audio.
