Opened in August 2015, Estadio BBVA presents a striking example of contemporary stadium architecture, designed by Populous and HOK. The structure boasts a distinctive, organic form, often likened to an armadillo shell or a steel mountain, deliberately blending with the nearby Sierra Madre Oriental mountain range. With a capacity of approximately 53,500, the multi-tiered seating bowls offer sweeping views of the central pitch, providing both intimate lower-tier perspectives and expansive panoramic vistas from the upper decks, which also frame the surrounding natural landscape.

As a modern, open-air concrete and steel stadium, the hall's acoustics for live music events are primarily a function of the installed sound reinforcement systems. Without a meticulously designed and powerful PA setup, sound can be highly diffuse and prone to significant reverberation and delay across such a vast space. The inherent scale and materials mean that unamplified sound or spoken word would struggle considerably for clarity and reach. For major concerts, robust external amplification is critical to delivering an audible and impactful performance across all sections of the auditorium.
