Frontón Bucareli, completed in 1929, stands as a formidable example of Art Deco design with a distinct functionalist aesthetic. Originally conceived as a grand pelota vasca (jai alai) court, the building features a monumental scale characterized by its imposing concrete and steel construction. The main hall is a vast, high-ceilinged rectangular space, historically the playing court, which now functions as the primary standing area for live performances. Along one side, spectator tiers and balconies offer elevated views, a legacy of its sporting past.
The inherent architectural profile of the hall, with its expansive volume and hard, reflective surfaces, dictates a highly reverberant acoustic environment.
