Hafen 2 emerged in 2008 as a key component of the revitalized Hafen Offenbach development, transforming a former industrial port into a contemporary urban district. Its architectural style is a pragmatic expression of modern industrial design, characterized by an unadorned material palette of concrete, steel, and expansive glass, reflecting its waterside context without resorting to pastiche. The primary performance space, a large hall, typically accommodates approximately 400-500 standing patrons, presenting a flat floor layout that encourages direct engagement with the stage. A smaller, more intimate room known as Werft 2 offers a different scale for events, complementing the main hall and the outdoor riverside terrace.

Sightlines within the main auditorium are generally clear from most positions on the standing floor, though audience height will always dictate individual visibility further from the stage. There are no tiered balconies or fixed seating levels to alter these perspectives. Acoustically, the contemporary construction, with its hard surfaces and open volume, creates a naturally lively and resonant environment.
