About Industrial Copera: Layout, History & Architecture

Industrial Copera, established in the late 1980s as a significant dance club, has evolved into a prominent live music venue, retaining its original industrial character. Architecturally, it presents as a repurposed warehouse space, characterised by robust concrete elements and a functional, unadorned aesthetic. The main hall is a vast, open-plan area designed primarily for standing audiences, with a substantial stage positioned at one end. Above the main floor, a smaller mezzanine level provides a limited number of elevated viewing positions, often serving as a VIP or chill-out zone.

With a capacity of approximately 2,000 patrons for live performances, the hall's layout is geared towards immersive, high-energy experiences. Sightlines from the flat standing floor can be compromised for shorter attendees positioned further back, especially during sold-out events, necessitating strategic early arrival for optimal views. Acoustically, the venue’s large, hard-surfaced structure inherent to its industrial design means sound reinforcement is critical. While powerful, well-tuned PA systems are employed to project sound effectively, the raw concrete environment can contribute to a direct, sometimes unpolished audio profile, rather than the refined acoustics of a purpose-built concert hall.

The Live Experience & Current Schedule

Ingress at Industrial Copera is typically managed via the main entrance on Carretera de Armilla, with queueing often extending along the roadside. Once inside, patrons find a functional foyer area leading into the expansive main hall. Multiple bar stations are distributed around the perimeter of the standing pit and on the mezzanine level, facilitating drink service. The density within the standing pit can become considerable during peak events, fostering a highly communal and energetic atmosphere that prioritises direct engagement with the performance. The elevated mezzanine offers a less crowded perspective, albeit at a greater distance from the stage.

With 7 live performances scheduled, upcoming entry prices start from £105.55. The next confirmed event on the calendar is Walls Granada on 16th January 2027.

Travel & Arrival Logistics

🚆

Rail & Mainline Connections

The nearest mainline station is Estación de Trenes de Granada (Calle Halcón, s/n, 18014 Granada). From this station, onward travel to Industrial Copera typically involves either a taxi service, which takes approximately 15-20 minutes depending on traffic, or connecting to local bus routes.

🚌

Bus & Local Transit

Several interurban bus lines (Metropolitano de Granada) operate between central Granada and La Zubia. Relevant services include line 170 (Granada - La Zubia) or line 171 (Granada - Cumbres Verdes), with stops such as 'Ctra. de Armilla - Industrial Copera' or 'La Zubia - Polígono Industrial' being most proximate to the venue. These buses can be boarded from key city-centre locations like Puerta Real. For those using the Metro de Granada, the closest stops are 'Fermasa' or 'Sierra Nevada' on Line 1 in Armilla. From 'Fermasa', the venue is approximately a 25-minute walk southeast along Carretera de Armilla, or a brief taxi ride.

🚗

Parking & Vehicle Access

Industrial Copera is situated on the outskirts of La Zubia, in an area with some unofficial street parking available on adjacent service roads or in nearby industrial zones. However, these spaces are limited and fill rapidly, particularly on event nights. Dedicated, large-scale multi-storey car parks are not available directly adjacent to the venue. Patrons are advised to consider carpooling or arriving early if planning to park, as formal paid parking options within a 10-minute radius are scarce.

🚶

Entry, Queues & Security

The primary entrance is located directly on Carretera de Armilla. Expect standard security protocols upon entry, including bag searches. Queues can form efficiently, but for popular events, arriving 30-45 minutes before the advertised door time is recommended to navigate security checks and secure a favourable position inside the main hall.
