Jardines de Abril occupies what was once a grand private estate, dating back to 1928, reimagined and extensively renovated in 2003 to serve as a versatile events and performance venue. The architectural style harmoniously blends the original Neo-Mediterranean Revival elements – particularly evident in the façade and some interior detailing – with striking contemporary glass, steel, and timber extensions that frame views of the surrounding landscaped gardens and the sea beyond. The main performance space, the Gran Sala, features a high vaulted ceiling and a largely flat, standing floor configuration, offering capacity for approximately 1,000 patrons for live music events. For seated configurations, such as banquets or theatre-style shows, the hall can accommodate 400 with a retractable seating system.

The Gran Sala's design, with its considerable ceiling height and mixed reflective surfaces including glass and rendered walls, presents a lively acoustic environment. While this can lend an energetic presence to amplified music, it necessitates careful sound engineering to manage reverberation and prevent low-frequency build-up, especially in the room's wider sections. Sightlines from the primary standing area are generally clear, benefiting from the elevated stage, though patrons positioned at the extreme sides might experience more oblique views. Adjoining the Gran Sala is the Invernadero, a more intimate conservatory space with natural materials and lower ceilings, designed for acoustic performances or receptions, offering a drier, more controlled sound profile and direct stage proximity for smaller acts. Beyond the enclosed spaces, the venue boasts extensive, terraced gardens which incorporate smaller, open-air performance areas. These outdoor settings, while picturesque, are subject to environmental acoustics and rely entirely on external sound reinforcement, with local sound ordinances dictating operational hours and volume levels.

Ingress to the venue is efficiently managed through multiple entry points located on the Esplanade Road side, leading into a spacious central foyer. This area houses two well-appointed bars, offering a standard selection of beverages and light snacks, designed to manage crowd flow both pre-show and during intervals without significant bottlenecking. Within the Gran Sala, the floor-level standing pit typically fosters a direct and energetic crowd atmosphere, with the stage feeling notably close. For events utilising the seated configuration, the experience is more formal, with unimpeded sightlines from most positions due to the raked design, though the distance from the stage is naturally greater.
