Constructed in 1968 as part of Neuruppin’s post-war urban renewal efforts, Kulturhaus Neuruppin exemplifies a robust late-modernist architectural style. Its exterior, characterised by clean lines, a pre-cast concrete frame, and large expanses of glazed curtain walling, reflects the era's functionalist design principles. The primary performance space, known simply as 'The Hall', is a large, adaptable volume primarily configured for standing audiences, accommodating approximately 1,100 patrons. A single, shallow-raked balcony at the rear provides an additional 250 fixed seats, offering clear sightlines over the main floor.

The Hall’s interior prioritises versatility over specific acoustic optimisation. Its large, rectangular footprint and predominantly hard surfaces mean the natural reverberation can be considerable, often necessitating precise sound reinforcement to achieve clarity, particularly for amplified music. While the stage is generously sized and well-equipped with modern technical infrastructure, the inherent acoustic properties of the space demand a well-calibrated sound system to prevent muddiness or harshness, a common characteristic of multi-purpose civic halls of this vintage.

An additional smaller studio theatre, the 'Gallery Room', is located on the first floor. This intimate black-box space, with flexible seating for up to 150, is better suited for spoken word, acoustic sets, and theatrical productions, its lower ceiling and adjustable acoustic panelling providing a more controlled sonic environment.
