La Cueva del Jazz en vivo, established in 1990, occupies a unique subterranean space beneath the historic street level of Zamora. Not purpose-built as a modern venue, the auditorium is an adaptation of an ancient cellar, characterized by its robust stone walls and low, often vaulted ceilings. This architectural configuration naturally creates a highly intimate environment, offering a direct contrast to expansive, purpose-built concert halls.
The space operates primarily with a flat standing floor, complemented by limited, informal seating positioned along the perimeter. This setup ensures direct proximity to the performance area, fostering an immersive experience where the artist is immediately present. Sightlines are largely unobstructed from most positions due to the compact nature of the room, though proximity to the very front of the stage can necessitate upward angling. Acoustically, the low, dense ceilings and stone construction contribute to a naturally warm and resonant sound profile, effectively managing direct sound without heavy reliance on extensive sound reinforcement. The confined nature of the room means that sound fills the space readily, creating a direct and often intense sonic experience, particularly when the venue is at full capacity.

Ingress to the venue is via a distinct, understated street-level doorway on C. de los Herreros, leading patrons down a short flight of stairs into the main club area.
