MVP Arena

The nearest mainline rail service is Amtrak at Albany-Rensselaer Station (ALB), located approximately 2 miles east across the Hudson River. From ALB, a taxi or ride-share service is recommended, typically a 10-15 minute journey to MVP Arena. Walking from the station to the venue is not a practical option due to distance and the need to cross the Hudson River via a bridge.

MVP Arena is well-served by the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) bus network. Key routes, including those operating along South Pearl Street, State Street, and Washington Avenue, have stops within a 5-minute walk of the venue. Consult the CDTA website for specific route schedules and connection information for services to downtown Albany.

Several parking garages are situated within a 10-minute walk of the arena. The MVP Arena Parking Garage (formerly Times Union Center Parking Garage) is directly adjacent, offering convenient access but can experience significant congestion pre-event and post-event. Other nearby options include the Green-Hudson Garage on Hudson Avenue and the Riverfront Garage. Pre-booking parking spaces is strongly advised, especially for major events, to secure a spot and potentially reduce waiting times upon arrival. Fees vary by garage and event.

MVP Arena is committed to providing an accessible and enjoyable experience for all visitors. The venue is fully wheelchair accessible, with step-free access at all main entrances and lifts available to all levels. Dedicated wheelchair viewing areas are situated in prime locations throughout the seating plan, offering excellent sightlines. Accessible toilet facilities are available on every level, and are clearly signposted. For visitors with hearing impairments, a hearing loop system is in operation during most events; please check with venue staff upon arrival. Assistance dogs and service animals are welcome at MVP Arena; please inform the venue when booking tickets so appropriate arrangements can be made. Accessible parking spaces are available close to the main entrance, and our stewards are on hand to assist with any specific requirements or queries you may have throughout your visit.

The primary entrances are located on South Pearl Street. Queues typically form outside these main doors. All attendees are subject to standard bag checks and security screening upon entry, so it is advisable to arrive at least 45-60 minutes before the scheduled start time, particularly for sell-out events, to allow ample time for security procedures and finding your seating. A clear bag policy may be in effect for certain events; check the specific event guidelines in advance.
