The Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater, an open-air amphitheater, first opened in 1952 as part of Robert Moses’ vision for Jones Beach State Park. Its distinctive design places the stage directly within Zach's Bay, creating a unique waterfront setting for performances. The structure features a largely concrete construction, reflecting a mid-century functional aesthetic. Following substantial renovations in the 1990s, the venue's capacity was expanded to approximately 15,000, configuring the space primarily with tiered seating that arcs around the bay-facing stage.
The auditorium provides generally clear sightlines from most seating sections, unobstructed by internal pillars due to its open-air, bowl-shaped layout. Side sections may offer more angled perspectives on the stage, which is visually integrated with the surrounding water.
