Its architectural lineage leans towards a robust inter-war utilitarian style, possibly incorporating elements of stripped Classicism common for financial or retail institutions of the era. The main performance hall, once a grand customer area, features a predominantly flat concrete floor, offering an intimate standing capacity of approximately 350 patrons. The stage is modestly raised, ensuring direct sightlines from the front half of the space. While the original high ceilings and hard-surface walls contribute to a naturally lively acoustic environment, modern sound reinforcement is heavily relied upon to manage reverberation and deliver clarity across the frequency spectrum. The overall design prioritizes direct engagement between audience and performer, eschewing tiered seating or multiple levels in favour of a cohesive, open-plan experience.

The building's material palette of internal plastered brickwork and some exposed concrete elements means sound can be somewhat reflective, particularly when the space is less densely populated. Strategic acoustic treatments have been integrated to mitigate excessive echo, but the inherent characteristics of the structure mean that the sonic profile can be dynamic, responding directly to crowd density and genre.
