Palacio Vistalegre, opened in 2000, occupies the site of Madrid's historic "La Chata" bullring, a structure dating back to 1908. The current iteration is a large, multi-purpose indoor arena defined by its robust modernist architecture, primarily employing concrete and steel in its construction. This functionalist approach yields a utilitarian aesthetic, prioritising capacity and adaptability over ornate detailing. The main hall features a central, adaptable floor area, which can be configured for a standing pit, sporting events, or formal seated arrangements. Surrounding this central space are steeply tiered seating sections that rise in an elliptical bowl, preserving the gladiatorial spirit of its predecessor.

With a capacity that can flex up to 15,000 for concerts and 12,000 for sporting events, the scale of the space is immediately apparent.
