About ShoWare Center: Layout, History & Architecture
Opened in January 2009 and designed by LMN Architects, the ShoWare Center presents a robust example of modern arena architecture, characterized by its substantial concrete and steel construction. The main auditorium features a classic multi-tiered bowl configuration, accommodating up to 7,800 patrons for concert events, with the floor level adaptable for general standing or supplemental seating. Sightlines from the upper tiers offer broad views of the central stage, while the floor setup can vary based on event type.
Acoustically, the inherent hard surfaces and vast volume of the space mean that sound reinforcement systems are critical. Patrons should anticipate a resonant, capacious sound profile, where the quality of the installed PA is central to audio clarity, rather than the natural acoustical properties of the hall.

Rail & Mainline Connections
The most direct rail access is via the accesso ShoWare Center Station, served by the Sounder commuter rail (S Line). This station is immediately adjacent to the venue, approximately a 1-minute walk to the main entrance. Alternatively, Kent Station, a larger transit hub also served by the Sounder S Line, is located about 1 mile west. From Kent Station, a 15-minute walk east along James Street, then south on 64th Ave S, leads directly to the venue.
Bus & Local Transit
Kent Station operates as a significant local bus hub, connecting various King County Metro routes. Several routes pass within close proximity to the arena, with stops located on James Street and 64th Ave S.
