VEGA, originally known as Folkets Hus (The People's House), was completed in 1956 and stands as a notable example of Danish Functionalist architecture, designed by the acclaimed Vilhelm Lauritzen. The building was initially conceived as a multi-purpose cultural and meeting venue for the Danish labour movement. Its conversion into a dedicated music venue has preserved much of its original mid-century modernist aesthetic, characterized by clean lines, functional spaces, and an emphasis on natural materials.

The complex houses two primary performance spaces. Store Vega, the main auditorium, boasts a capacity of approximately 1,550 for standing concerts or 800 for seated events. A tiered balcony spans the rear of the hall, offering elevated perspectives. However, the sheer volume of the space, typical of large, high-ceilinged modernist halls, means that effective PA system deployment and mixing are paramount for optimal clarity across the entire audience. Sightlines from the tiered balcony are generally clear, though specific staging configurations can always introduce minor variations. Lille Vega, by virtue of its more compact dimensions, delivers a raw and immediate sonic impact, with the lower ceiling contributing to a denser, more contained sound field, ideal for energetic performances.
