The design deliberately evokes the original stadium's neoclassical grandeur, clad in Indiana limestone and featuring a distinctive copper frieze that runs along the upper perimeter. Primarily configured as a major league baseball park, the capacity for sporting events approaches 50,000 spectators. For concerts and large-scale public events, the playing field often hosts a substantial standing or temporary seating area directly in front of an outfield stage, augmenting the extensive tiered seating that spirals upwards across multiple decks.

Sightlines within the bowl are engineered for baseball, meaning views of a concert stage from the upper echelons can be distant and lack immediacy. Acoustically, as an expansive open-air facility built predominantly with concrete and steel, the space is inherently challenging for amplified music. Sound dispersal relies heavily on a sophisticated public address system, and audiences should expect a broad, often diffuse sound profile, rather than the focused clarity found in purpose-built concert venues. Reverberation and ambient bleed are inherent characteristics of its vast, uncontained volume.

The Live Experience & Current Schedule

Access to the hall on event days is managed through numerous gates distributed around its perimeter, with the primary pedestrian flows typically from the east and south. Once inside, the expansive concourses provide access to a multitude of concession stands and bars. For concerts, the atmosphere can be electric, with crowds either densely packed on the field-level standing area or spread across the stadium's fixed seating. While field-level positions offer the most direct connection to the stage, views from the higher seating tiers provide a panoramic, albeit more distant, perspective.
