Lark Berlin occupies a re-engineered industrial structure in Friedrichshain, originally constructed in 1905 as a power station auxiliary building. The venue underwent significant renovation in 2020, transforming its brick and steel shell into a contemporary event space with a pronounced Neo-Brutalist aesthetic. Its primary performance area is a single, vast auditorium with a flat concrete standing floor, accommodating up to 1,500 patrons. The ceiling height is substantial, featuring exposed concrete beams and utilitarian fixtures that contribute to its raw, industrial character. A modest, elevated viewing platform is situated at the rear of the main floor, offering slightly improved sightlines over the general admission crowd.

The architectural conversion prioritized open space and robust utility, resulting in a minimalist layout. Sightlines across the main floor are generally unobstructed towards the main stage, though extreme proximity to the stage or being situated behind particularly tall individuals can, as in any standing venue, present temporary challenges. Acoustically, the hall exhibits characteristics typical of large, hard-surfaced industrial spaces. Its expansive volume and concrete surfaces create a lively, somewhat reverberant sound environment. While this imparts a certain atmospheric presence, optimal audio fidelity is heavily reliant on the quality and configuration of the installed sound reinforcement system, which must be precisely tuned to mitigate natural room echo and deliver clarity across the wide frequency range common in contemporary live performance.
