Säälchen, an integral part of Berlin's Holzmarkt 25 cooperative, is a modern industrial-chic event space established within the revitalised riverfront area. Constructed as part of the innovative Holzmarkt development, which began in the mid-2010s, the building features a robust, minimalist aesthetic dominated by exposed concrete and high ceilings, reflecting a functional and adaptable design. The space operates primarily as a single, large flat-floor auditorium, designed for maximum flexibility in event configuration, from standing concerts to seated banquets and presentations.
The venue boasts a variable capacity, typically accommodating up to 800 standing patrons, making it suitable for a broad spectrum of live events. Sightlines across the main floor are generally unobstructed due to the open-plan design and lack of fixed pillars or tiered seating.
