LAV - Lisboa ao Vivo, situated within Doca de Alcântara Norte, Armazém H, is a purpose-built event space that opened its doors in 2018. The venue occupies a converted industrial warehouse, retaining much of its original modernist and brutalist character. Its design prioritizes a large, flexible main hall, primarily configured for standing-room-only concerts and events, accommodating approximately 2,000 attendees. The architecture emphasizes raw concrete, exposed steel, and high ceilings, reflecting its industrial heritage.
The main auditorium is a large, open expanse with a flat standing floor, offering unimpeded views of the elevated stage for those positioned closer to the front. Further back, sightlines can become a challenge amidst a dense crowd, a common characteristic of such large-capacity, single-tier venues. Acoustically, the industrial structure of the hall, with its hard, reflective surfaces, presents a demanding environment.
