The hall operates as a traditional proscenium arch theatre, with a capacity of approximately 2,286 across its four-tiered structure: Stalls, Dress Circle, Upper Circle, and Balcony. Sightlines are generally clear across the lower tiers, offering direct views of the stage. However, consistent with theatres of this vintage, some seats in the far reaches of the Upper Circle and Balcony may experience partial obstruction from structural pillars. Acoustically, the design originally favoured natural amplification for variety acts and musical performances; consequently, the space possesses a warm, resonant character. Modern productions, particularly concerts and large-scale musicals, rely heavily on sophisticated sound reinforcement systems to ensure clarity and impact throughout the entire auditorium.
