About Roig Arena: Layout, History & Architecture

Currently under construction in València's Quatre Carreres district, Roig Arena is projected to open its doors in 2025. Designed as a versatile multi-purpose venue, its architecture embraces a contemporary, functional aesthetic, primarily utilising concrete and steel, characteristic of large-scale modern arenas globally. The design prioritises adaptability, allowing for swift reconfigurations between major sporting events, such as basketball with a capacity of 15,600, and large-scale concerts accommodating up to 18,600 attendees.

The layout will feature extensive tiered seating surrounding a flexible central area, capable of conversion between a standing floor for concerts and a sports court. Sightlines from the tiered sections are anticipated to be generally unobstructed, offering clear views of the stage or playing surface, a critical consideration in modern arena design. However, the sheer volume and hard material surfaces inherent to a venue of this magnitude mean that acoustic performance will rely heavily on sophisticated, precisely tuned public address systems.

While capable of delivering powerful, immersive audio experiences through its technical infrastructure, the natural reverberation of such a large, unadorned space means acoustic performance is fundamentally shaped by sound reinforcement, rather than inherent architectural dampening. This design approach is typical for major contemporary arenas, where the sonic environment is an engineered component of the overall production rather than a purely architectural attribute.

The Live Experience & Current Schedule

Upon completion, accessing the arena will involve navigating large crowds, typical of major event venues. Multiple entry points are expected to manage the flow, leading into spacious foyers equipped with concession stands and bar facilities designed to serve thousands efficiently. Inside, the experience for concert-goers will likely involve a dense standing pit at floor level, offering direct proximity to the stage, complemented by panoramic views from the tiered seating above. The atmosphere, driven by the scale of the events it hosts, will be one of collective excitement and energy, amplified by state-of-the-art visual and sound production.

With 47 live performances scheduled, upcoming entry prices start from €37.15. The next confirmed event on the calendar is Silvio Rodriguez Valencia on 16th September 2026. The overall experience will be defined by the arena's modern amenities and the shared energy of large-scale gatherings.

Travel & Arrival Logistics

🚆

Rail & Mainline Connections

The main intercity rail hubs, Valencia Joaquín Sorolla and Valencia Nord, are located approximately 3.5 to 4 kilometres northwest of Roig Arena. From either station, visitors can connect to the EMT bus network or València Metro. For instance, from Valencia Nord, a 6-minute walk west along Calle de Xàtiva to Colón Metro station allows connection to Line 5 towards Marítim-Serrería. From Marítim-Serrería, the arena is approximately a 20-minute walk south down Avenida de Francia, crossing the Pont de l'Assut de l'Or bridge.

🚌

Bus & Local Transit

Roig Arena is well-served by València's EMT bus network. Key routes include Line 99, 19, and 35, which have stops along Avenida Profesor López Piñero and Avenida del Saler, both immediately adjacent to the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències complex where the arena is situated. These routes provide direct connections from various points across the city.

🚗

Parking & Vehicle Access

For those arriving by car, several large parking facilities are available in the immediate vicinity. The "Parking Oceanogràfic" and "Parking Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe," part of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències complex, are within a 5 to 10-minute walk northeast of the arena, accessible via Avenida del Saler. Visitors should anticipate high demand and potential congestion on event nights, and advance booking via official venue or parking operator websites is strongly advised to secure a space and potentially reduce fees.

🚶

Entry, Queues & Security

Entry points are expected to be clearly signposted along Avenida Antonio Ferrandis, the primary frontage of the arena. Large-scale event security protocols will be in place, including mandatory bag searches and metal detection. Guests should adhere to posted bag size restrictions to expedite entry. Arriving 45 to 60 minutes before the scheduled start time is recommended to allow ample time for security checks, concession purchases, and navigating to specific seating sections.
