About Secret Location in London: Layout, History & Architecture
The structure, originally a Victorian industrial facility dating back to the late 1880s, underwent significant conversion in the early 2000s to become Secret Location in London. Its exterior retains the robust red-brick masonry characteristic of its era, while the interior was largely reconfigured with a utilitarian aesthetic. Exposed steel girders, polished concrete floors, and raw timber accents define the performance areas, creating a stark, functional modernism within a historic shell.
The main hall accommodates approximately 1,800 standing patrons. An upper-level, horseshoe-shaped balcony offers an additional 350 fixed seats, providing an elevated, more composed viewing experience. On the ground floor, sightlines can become challenging towards the rear and sides during sold-out events, particularly for those shorter in stature. The balcony, while providing clearer views of the stage, includes a few support pillars near the far sides that can partially obstruct peripheral vision for some seats.
